Meet John Grace, MS
John is the Assistant Director of Performance at Athletic Lab. In addition to being one of Athletic Lab’s coaches, John Grace assists with business administration, member relations, staff education and programming of training. Prior to taking on the role of Assistant Director of Performance at Athletic Lab, John served as the Director of Facilities. John hails from Utica, New York. He attended the State University of New York at Oswego where he earned a degree in Marketing with a minor in Heath Science. In 2015, John earned his Masters Degree in Sport Science & Coaching from Ohio University. John is recognized as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and he has USA Track & Field and USA Weightlifting Level 1 certifications. John is currently the Assistant Fitness Coach for North Carolina FC and the North Carolina Courage. Prior to that he served as assistant Strength & Conditioning coach for the Vancouver Whitecaps of the MLS, alongside Athletic Lab founder Mike Young, PhD. John is a prolific author having written for some of the top sites on the web on topics related to soccer fitness, weightlifting technique and strength development. He is also the host of Athletic Lab’s popular Sports Performance Podcast.
