Athletic Lab Summer Weightlifting Classic Registration

Athletic Lab has a track record of putting on some of the largest and best single-day weightlifting meets in North Carolina. For the second summer in a row, we’re hosting a massive two-day USAW sanctioned event on June 24th and 25th. The female weight classes will compete on Saturday, June 24th and the male weight classes will compete on Sunday, June 25th.

We host multiple weightlifting meets every year with the most experienced staff on meet day. We have a competition platform (13’x13′), Eleiko competition bars and bumper plates, and 9 warmup platforms with competition bars and bumper plates for each. You won’t find this competition set up anywhere else in the state of North Carolina.

“You won’t find this competition set up anywhere else in the state of North Carolina”

Wrong. Check your facts. Everyone knows you’re proud of yourself, but you’re not the only legit club in the state.

Hi Paul. Sorry if you took that line as an insult. That was by no means our intent. We know that we’re not the ‘only legit club in the state’ and I think it’s unfair to suggest that’s what we were saying. We consider ourselves one of many very good clubs in the state.

What we meant by the comment you singled out was that our meet experience is unique for a local competition. We strive to provide a big meet feel for all of our local meets. At our meets we provide dedicated wooden competition platform, competition bar, magnetic competition collars, eleiko or comparable level bumpers, electronic attempt and time board, 12 bearing bars to warmup on, etc. Our staff hosts meets 3-4 times each year which would likely make us one of the most experienced groups in the country. These are points of fact. Can you provide another facility or club in the state that rivals these features? If not, we would ask you to “check your facts.”

I tried to delete the comment. The page wouldn’t let me. To me, it read very pretentious, but you are a very well furnished club and have every right to boast about the quality of equipment and professionalism in which you run your meet. I apologize and wish you the best in your meets. And mostly, thank you for promoting weightlifting and growing the sport in your area.
