Athletic Lab features a diverse and vibrant community. We are the training home to professional through youth athletes and adults looking to get in the best shape of their lives. While the specific goals of our varying members may differ but they all share a common trait: they are goal-oriented and hard-working. Each month we highlight one (or more) of our members in our member of the month feature. For the month of February, we’ve chosen the married couples of Athletic Lab. You can also check out our previous members of the month here.

Where did you meet?

Ross & Keri: On the soccer field in Raleigh (2002)

Brian & Heather: We met at the end of high school and we will be married 30 years at the end of this year.

Matt & Mary: We met via match.com in 2012 and our first date was at Tyler’s Taproom in Durham.

Rodrigo & Deia: We met in college.

Renan & Adriana: We met at the university, in Jaboticabal, state of São Paulo (1998).

Savan & Monica: We met and started dating in 2005 while completing our undergraduate work at Campbell University.

Nate & Alison: We met in college at Carnegie Mellon University.

Joel & Stacey: We met our freshman year at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1987. Joel was assigned to the same dorm floor as a good friend of mine from high school, so we sort of met that way. But we first really met when we both attended a talk from a guy who wanted to get rid of all countries and unite as one world (no, it wasn’t John Lennon; he was dead by then).

Aaron & Hope: Our first date was at Tyler’s Taproom in Durham

Where’s your favorite restaurant to eat together?

Ryan & Viviane: We do pastry dates at a place called Lucettegrace.

Matt & Tara: The Crosstown Pub & Grill in downtown Cary!

Rajan & Shubha: The restaurant that we like to go to is Olive Garden.

Ram & Thulasi: C&T Wok

Where was your first date?

Dan & Erica: Our first date was the now long gone Darryl’s off of 15-501.

Craig & Meredith: On our first “official” date, Craig invited me over and cooked dinner for me. He grilled steak, chicken, vegetables and even made homemade chocolate chip cookies. I guess you could say he knew the way to my heart!

Jason & Nancy: Our first date was at TGIF Friday’s back in 1992.

Andy & Devon: Our first date as a couple was at The Pit in Raleigh. We had been friends for many years, but this was our first official date as something more than friends. Andy was quite romantic in asking me on this date. He planned the whole thing and swept me off my feet. Gotta love him!

Chris & Nan: Our first date was a blind date in Hamilton, MA. A mutual friend, who came to my yoga classes and was also a CrossFit friend of Chris thought we would be a good match.
