Athletic Lab is selected by professional through youth athletes and adults looking to get in the best shape of their lives. We pride ourselves on having a diverse and vibrant community. All our members share the common traits of being goal-oriented and hard-working. Each month we highlight one (or more) of our members in our member of the month feature. For our April members of the month, we’ve chosen Ryan Weber and Delaney Register. Ryan and Delaney are Performance Fitness members and active members of our Cary CrossFit competition team. Ryan and Delaney were our top competitors in the 2019 CrossFit Open. Ryan finished the Open ranked 5,161 out of 185,549 competitors which placed him in the top 3% in the world. Delaney finished ranked 13,925 out of 140,130 competitors which placed her in the top 10% in the world. You can also check out our previous members of the month here.
What city were you born in? Denville, NJ
What do you do when you’re not working out at Athletic Lab (occupation, hobbies, etc)? I work in RTP doing survey research for a variety of government agencies. In the 1 day a week I’m not at The Lab, I’m fiddling with my car, playing the occasional round of golf, eating…and thinking about eating.
What’s your favorite exercise? Least favorite? Favorite: Thrusters; Least Favorite: Prone Eagles (snow angels)
What do you feel has been your greatest accomplishment since you started training? Not being run over by someone sprinting the track. Also, making steady improvements in my overall fitness year after year.
What motivates you? The thought that training the way we do is a privilege that not everyone has the time, resources or physical ability to undertake. I’m lucky enough to be healthy and able to workout in a great facility with some great people every day, and I try to make the most of it.

What do you do when you’re not working out at Athletic Lab (occupation, hobbies, etc)? Away from AL, I am a Business Analyst for IQVIA. I also enjoy cooking – I am constantly testing recipes that are gluten free, dairy free, and refined sugar free with the dream of publishing a cookbook one day.
What’s your favorite exercise? Least favorite? My favorite exercise is any variation of a squat; my least favorite movements are definitely deadlift and burpees.
What do you feel has been your greatest accomplishment since you started training? Most recently, probably beating Lee in the Open lol.
What motivates you? I just love being active and try to remain grateful for the things my body allows me to do. Never want to take that for granted! Working out with some pretty cool people in the comp corner definitely helps too!
